By Faith, Not By Works

Halfway through reading this wonderful book:

1414306202 The One Year New Testament for Busy Dads

I came across a topic which is often the subject of debate.

Are we saved because of our Faith in Jesus or by “Good Works”?

Romans 3:21-29 clearly addresses this issue.

21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

But make sure to read up to until the end of the chapter to read the entire context.

31 Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.

Have a blessed day!

A New Home

I finally found a new home here at wordpress following my google account (which is linked to my blogger account) being locked for unknown reasons.

Life is full of new beginnings and I hope to make good use of this year by doing something I should have done a looong time ago.

And that is to read the bible in a year.

But somehow I’ve realized that I’ve been too ambitious the past few years, so this 2008, I’ve set my eyes on a goal which is more attainable.

And I’ve got the perfect book to help me with that:

It’s already the 3rd of January and I must say that so far soo good. I’m loving it!

Thanks to my wife for such a wonderful Christmas present.
